Sophie and Chris were blessed with the most perfect weather for their pretty outdoor Surrey wedding in the Springtime. Following their wedding ceremony at Tilford church, where their two pups acted as ring bearers, guests made their way back to Sophie’s family home on a fleet of vintage buses for a drinks reception, dinner and dancing.
Inspired by the picturesque setting, particularly the most gorgeous wall of ancient wisteria, Sophie opted for a colour palette of blush, lilac and purple with a hint of orange to give a nod to Chris’s Dutch heritage. A string quartet played in the background while guests enjoyed a drinks reception which included Sophie’s Mum’s homemade lemonade and shortbread biscuits, champagne and canapes.
The marquee was light and bright and filled with hundreds of paper pom poms, beautiful blousy blooms including peonies, hydrangea and roses from Blomster and at each place setting sat a jar of home-made jam finished with a liberty print fabric top. Vintage cups & saucers and purple water glasses completed the look. Guests feasted on a fabulous wedding breakfast, the highlight of which was a DIY eton mess dessert – piles of meringues, cream and berries were served to each table and guests helped themselves to the sweet delights.
The speeches were emotional yet hilarious and culminated in a performance with orange props-a-plenty by the groomsmen! The guest were treated to a fabulous band who played throughout the night and kept everyone on the dancefloor. Bride and groom’s cocktails, a sweetie table guest book and late night cheese on toast ensured they were fuelled for a night of partying!
“Sophie and Chris your love for each other was so clear to see from our first meeting; I had such fun planning this with you and wish you lots of love for the future together”
